News: Starting Fall 2015, I will be joining Rutgers University as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering.

I am a member of the research faculty at the University of Maryland Institute for Advanced Computer Studies (UMIACS).  I completed my Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Maryland, College Park, MD, in 2010.  I received the B.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering and Applied Mathematics (with honors) and the M.S. degree in Applied Mathematics from North Carolina State University, Raleigh, NC, in 2004 and 2005, respectively.  I was a recipient of the ORAU postdoctoral fellowship in 2010.

Security and privacy: Active authentication, biometrics template protection, biometrics recognition
Computer vision: Domain adaptation, dictionary learning, object recognition, activity recognition, shape representation
Machine learning: Dimensionality reduction, clustering, kernel methods, weakly-supervised learning
Signal/Image processing: Sparse representation, compressive sampling, synthetic aperture radar imaging, millimeter wave imaging
